Kwara LGs ,SUBEB workers to  receive full salaries as LGs step down running cost The 16 Local Government Areas in Kwara State have shared  N681,726,779.53 from the State Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC) for the month of  January, while all categories of workers at the local government would receive full salaries this month  of January. The Chairman , Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Mr. Joshua Omokanye disclosed this while addressing newsmen after the JAAC meeting held at the Ministry of Finance Conference room Ilorin on wednesday. Omokanye explained that the local government  chairmen  unanimously  agreed at the meeting to step down their January runnning cost to enable the workers to receive full salaries. He said that the committee also agreed that Extra-ordinary  inflow of Exchange Difference Gain of N3,614,201.46 should be shared. Omokanye also restated that 10 per cent Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)from state government of N114,425,154.06

Kwara Govt Urges Calm as Army Begins Operation in the State The Kwara State Government has urged residents of the state to remain calm as the Nigerian Army begins the Kwara State leg of Its Operation Python Dance III security exercise in the state. The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed gave the assurance after a meeting with the new Acting Brigade Commander, Sobi, Col. A. A. Egbejule at Government House, Ilorin on Monday. Governor Ahmed said he has received a thorough briefing on the Operation from the Ag. Brigade Commander that the security operation, which is going on across the country, is designed to maintain law and order ahead of the forthcoming general elections as well as curb criminality in the state. He, therefore, urged all residents of the state to go about their lawful activities without fear as the exercise is designed to reassure members of the public on their safety before, during and after the forthcoming general elections in the state. 2019: Kwara Sets up Joint Security Task Force The Kwara State Government has established a Joint Security Task Force headed by the Nigerian Army to check political violence before, during and after the general elections in the state. The State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed disclosed this on Monday at Agbaji Quarter in Ilorin when he led other members of the State Security Council to assess the extent of the damage during Sunday's political violence in the area. Governor Ahmed described the incident as unacceptable and a clear case of criminality which shows a complete degeneration of political values the state is known for. The governor who had earlier presided over the State Security Council meeting promised that all the culprits would be identified and brought to book to forestall reoccurrence. Again, Factional APC Thugs Attack Saraki's Ilorin Family Residence, Injure 11, Damage 50 Vehicles For the second time in four days, political thugs loyal to the factional gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State yesterday attacked the Agbaji Ilorin family residence of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki. The rampaging APC thugs opened fire on residents of the area, wounding at least 11 persons in the process. They also destroyed about 50 exotic cars parked at various locations within Agbaji Quarters. It would be recalled that the APC thugs had on Thursday unleashed violence on the people of Agbaji, Adewole and Pakata areas of Ilorin metropolis.
