Gov Ahmed Condemns Vandalisation of Political Campaign Billboards Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has condemned as unfortunate and unacceptable, the vandalization of billboards belonging to political parties and their candidates in the state by unknown persons. Governor Ahmed, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Dr Muyideen Akorede, denounced the action and warned political parties, their candidates and supporters to desist from such actions in the interest of peace and harmonious coexistence that Kwara State is renowned for. Updated: FAAC: Kwara Gets N4b for December The Kwara State Government is to receive a sum of N4,081,333,488.67 as allocation from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) for December 2018. The State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, made this known in a statement released in Ilorin on Thursday. Banu disclosed that the State Government’s allocation was made up of statutory allocation of     N2,848,282,384.32, Value Added Tax of N 845,112,525.29, foreign exchange equalisation of N381,981,982.32 and exchange gain of N5,956,596.74 Furthermore, the Commissioner revealed that the 16 Local Government Councils in the State got a total of N2,941,482,536.70 as allocation for December.  Giving a breakdown of the allocation figures, Banu said the local councils got a statutory allocation of N2,206,023,05, Value Added Tax of N79,587,690.84, foreign exchange equalisation of N251,943,009.84, and exchange gain of N3,928,779.32

KWIRS donates N20m to IVTEC The Kwara Internal Revenue Services (KWIRS), has donated N20million to the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo for the procurement of additional tools to train students at the college. The Chairman of the State Revenue Services, Dr Muritala Awodun who announced the first graduation of students of the IVTEC in Ajase-Ipo on Thursday said the gesture was part of the services' resolution to promote academic excellence in tertiary institutions across the state. He explained that the revenue body decided to inject more fund to IVTEC because of its roles in modern vocational training and skills acquisition. Dr Awodun further explained that the revenue body also resolved to award two overall best students with the sum of N250,000 each, while N100,000 each would go to other awardees. Gov. Ahmed Approves N115million For LG Staff and Teachers' Promotion Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the release of N115m for the implementation of promotion of Local Government staff as well as teaching and non-teaching staff under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
