*A TRIBUTE TO HONOURABLE PRINCESS OLUFUNKE ADEDOYIN MNI .* I received yesterday evening with utter shock and sadness, the news of the passing-on of Princess Olufunke Adedoyin. Her death at this time is shocking and for me it is a personal loss. I served Princess Adedoyin (who was called Sista by close friends and family) as a Special Assistant during her Tenure as Honourable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between 2003 - 2005. Princess Adedoyin as I knew her was an amazing woman of character, very strong willed, confident, resourceful, resilient, compassionate and result oriented. She impacted and dominated her environment at all times. I had served under Princess for close to 11 years, first as a Special Assistant and later on in other capacities. She was a mother figure to me, she gave me the support and encouragement to go into politics. I built trust, confidence and loyalty working with her in those years. She gave to me her ALL and today I cannot but be eternally g

OUR DEFECTION TO PDP; THE HIDDEN TRUTH By: NASIR SUBAIR VANGUARD Democracy is a priceless gift we inherited from our past heroes, they fought tooth and nail to liberate our nation and give us the freedom will all deserve as countrymen. If not for them, there wouldn’t have been any independent and a country like ours today.  It would however be a slap on our face and a stain on our robe, if we fold our arms and let the democracy be destroyed and shortchanged with lewd impunity and unsolicited tyrannical rule. Just as there is always an action orchestrating every reaction, either negative or positive, the backbone of any reaction is always traced to an action which our defection scenario cannot be dissociated from. In the advent of 2015 election, we all decided to leave the then ruling party; People’s Democratic Party (PDP),  when we noticed that our interest and that of the people who look up to us as leaders can no longer be protected. When the atmosphere was polluted with lots of

Kawu, Sambo, Farooq And The Rape Of Facts

Kawu, Sambo, Farooq And The Rape Of facts Every Ilorin and Kwara State native, who read Anti-Saraki Ilorin Purism by the director-general of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Ishaq Modibbo Kawu and Zakaryau Sambo of Usman Danfodiyo University's response entitled: Re-Ilorin is an ethnogenesis, would surely feel a deep sense of deliberate mis-representation of facts. Even worse, a selfish and conscious attempt at advancing diversionary ideas. As jaundiced and pretentious as both Kawu and Sambo, their inability to disguise hate for the Sarakis did a lot more damage to their warped psychology and intellectual sophistry, leaving the articles impulsive deception and gross misguidance. Without doubt, Sambo's submission in response to Farooq's highly cerebral and intellectual exposition on Kawu's anti-Saraki Ilorin purism and Kawu's intellectual arrogance, would continue to enrage those who know Ilorin and Kwara State history beyond politics and raucous greed, an

FUNKE ADEDOYIN: CHANGING THE LYRICS OF REPRESENTATION WITHOUT NOISE

FUNKE ADEDOYIN: CHANGING THE LYRICS OF REPRESENTATION WITHOUT NOISE Since her emergence in 2015 general elections,  *Honorable Princess Olufunke Adedoyin* has not given anything to chance . The magnitude of works credited to her constituency office in shortest of time indicates she was seriously prepared for the herculean task before being voted in.
