Governor Ahmed Approves Promotion of 1511 Civil Servants Kwara State governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the promotion of 1,511 civil servants in the state civil service. To this end, promotion letters are to be distributed to the affected civil servants from GL.07 to 17 next week. The State Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Adelodun Ibrahim who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin said 1,658 candidates sat for examination. Alhaji Ibrahim explained that the state government had consistently maintained the yearly promotion of civil servants since 2003. "Let me state with every sense of pride that with the implementation of the 2018 promotion exercise, the state government has consistently maintained the yearly promotion of civil servants since 2003. FAAC: Kwara Gets N3.9b for November  The Kwara State Government is to receive a sum of N3,900,900,239.56 as allocation from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) for the month of November, 2018. The State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, made this known in a statement released in Ilorin on Wednesday. Banu disclosed that the State Government’s allocation was made up of statutory allocation of N2,889,757,861.58, Value Added Tax of N1,006,717,214.68 and exchange gain of N4,425,163.30. Furthermore, the Commissioner noted that the 16 Local Government Councils in the State are to receive a total of 2,807,545,263.41 as allocation for November.  Giving a breakdown of the allocation figures, he said the local councils got statutory allocation of N2,233,378,945.36, Value Added Tax of N571,247,622.89 and exchange gain of N2,918,695.16.

Paris Club: Kwara yet to receive final tranche-Banu The Kwara State Government has explained that it has not received the final tranche of the Paris Club refunds from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja. Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu told The Herald last night that the government has done all the necessary reconciliations that are required for such refunds. He also informed that while the state government has already made a fresh presentation on the refunds to the new Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, it is yet to receive the expected funds from Abuja. The Commissioner expressed optimism that since States like Osun, Benue, Oyo, and Delta have received their final tranches of the refunds, the Kwara State Government should also get its tranche soon. Governor Ahmed Commissions N6.5b Ilorin Metropolis Water Distribution Project Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has commissioned the Ilorin Metropolis Water Distribution Project as part of efforts to provide clean and affordable water to the citizenry. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony held at Agaka area of Ilorin on Thursday, the governor said the commissioning of the project was a celebration of coming to fruition of the project after a decade of relentless efforts by the State Government. He added that with the completion of the secondary phase of the project, government has recorded significant milestones in its effort to ensure that every resident has access to water within a 500-meter radius. He added that the project will serve 48,000 homes within the metropolis.
