SACKED 2,414 TEACHERS; LG AUTONOMY SEIZURE AND POLITICAL  INSENSITIVITY IN KWARA IN YEAR 2020

The review of year 2020 by any sound, sane and stable minded Kwaran will surely leave the above subject of concern so disturbing, owing from the ineptitude of the Government elected by kwarans to better the life of Kwarans who now inturn inflict harhsip and make life unbearable for the citizens.

The year 2020 which came with own peculiar challenges could not have any succor to ameliorate the suffering of Kwarans from her Government but complication of situations for ordinary Kwarans.

From January to December, one can only recalled that except for the first two month of the year, every others have been so challenging for every Nigerians with Kwarans in deep mess of insensitive government of zero direction.

Quickly, let ponder on prominent issues from most recent.

Despite efforts of government at all levels to factor moderlities to absorb and engage her citizen in the wake of post covid-19 economy recovery plan adopted by Global, Federal, State and Local authorities which are one of the major factors identified as key issues plugging states into expanding crimes, criminalities and insecurity. Our dear state under the Goverment of no direction has decided to sack 2,414 teachers employed by previous administration out of unnecessary political power tussle in year 2020.

The negotiated, renegotiated and continue negotiating minimum wage. Like the APC accused the previous administration of been inconsiderate and insensitive to workers wellbeing in the state, promised improve welfare package and swift implementation of new minimum wage since assumption of office, the government is yet to find her root until Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Kwara Chapter embarked on strike over minimum wage after negotiations, renegotiations and hopefully continue negotiations of same issue. It's never clear that as two years of the regime wine down with no new minimum wage implementation yet, Goverment may still call for renegotiation of same matter after new propose budget acclaimed to have included the new pay, but until then we are watching closely because no clear cut economy plan to back such move.

THE MAN MADE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTONOMY SEIZURE

The entire states in Nigeria have since commence yielding to supreme Court ruling on invalidity of any state governor to unnecessary interfere in the affairs of LG, both her finance and her leadership, many have echewed the idea of appointing TIC rather conduct election to usher in democratically elected local council executives, in Kwara our case is different, November 2020 marked the official end of the controversially suspended LG Council bosses, aside the deceptive hoodwinking of those suspended council chairmen to defect to ruling party APC as negotiation terms to avert being persecuted and procecuted as the case may be, many have not regain total freedom from economic and financial crime commission after illegal termination of their tenure. Kwara LG authonomy have remain in our Governor's pocket as no viable plan to conduct election but possible revisit of old order of appointing friends and cronies to feed fat on LG fund which will be rejected vehemently by all means permitted under law. 

THE HOT SLAP CUM CONTROVERSIAL RESIGNATION OF EASTWHILE COMMISSIONER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND CHIEFTAINCY AFFAIRS AND LATER COMMISSIONER OF SPECIAL DUTIES, MADAM AISHA PATIGI

 Kwarans still wonder around the mystery of former commissioner who was alledged slapped fellow commissioner before throwing to the public the allegation of over 300 million monthly diversion from local government fund, even with clean bill given by the so call panel of enquiry set up by Kwara state government, Kwarans could not dot the i and cross the tee as regard her final quit of Governor Abdulrahman administration by Mrs Aisha-Ahman Patigi also in the year 2020.

THE WONDERFUL TRACTOR HIRING DEBACLE

 In the same year 2020 of unprecedented challenges, economy woe and global health pandemic occasioned by covid-19,  Kwarans read with disaffection the scam that alledgely rocked tractorisation scheme of the state government, where cost of hiring a tractor by state government to be given to farmers at lower rental service is higher than cost of acquiring brand new tractor for the state, this also in the year 2020.

KWARA APC HOUSE OF COMMOTION

For its established fact that structures built on lie and decit won't stand test of time, the APC in the state remains assembly of haters of progress, envious element and set of political wounded personalities hence the warfare not surprising both the cold one, the cyber war and the physical combat experiences among the state ruling party in year 2020. It remains a big distraction and to the disadvantage of Kwarans as the goverment is deeply emershed in crisis ranging from alledged removal of her former state chairman after several alleged sponsored physical assault/beating of elders and members at different fora, reinstament of embattled chairman, unilateral change of party LG chairmen accross the state with special tag APC - AA GROUP, factional frustaration of the state exco by a cancus within the State Executive Council before the final disolution and reabsorption of state chairman as caretaker. All these dramatic episodes amount to political disability and distraction witnessed by Kwarans in 2020. Going forward into new year, APC must learn to put his house in order, 'Charity Begins at Home'. So Kwarans won't have to experience same mess in new year of the APC 3rd year lap.

Conclusively, 2020 have been so challenging, Kwara government have been so insensitive and Kwarans have been so enduring, tolerant and patient but the mess must end in 2023.

Let the state government understand the urgency and necessity of doing the needful before time runs out completely, stepping into 3rd lap of thier tenure, Kwarans are runing out of patience,  with all the huge electoral  promises which have now turned into a hoax.

Not again we will fall into this kind of deceptive and insentive people.

Kwara truly deserves better!!!
