Kwara PDP greets Saraki at 58

...hails his contributions to national devt. 


The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara State has feliciated with former President of the Senate and national leader of the party, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary. 

In a statement signed by its State Chairman, Hon. Kola Shittu, the party said it joined immediate family members, friends, associates, followers and wellwishers to celebrate Saraki, who turns 58 today, 19 December, 2020.

The Kwara PDP described Saraki as a great leader, successful politician and an administrator of note, stressing that his legacies and contributions as a two-term governor of Kwara and former President of the Senate cannot be forgotten. 

It added that "Saraki left indelible footprints when he served as governor of Kwara between 2003 and 2011, and also provided outstanding leadership when he led the National Assembly during the last dispensation, with the legislature recording several laudable achievements. 

"This is in spite of all the distractions, intimidation and harassment he encountered in the hands of his detractors, who wanted him out at all cost. Saraki is no doubt a fearless leader and strong pillar of democracy who fought for the independence of the legislature. He demonstrated strong commitment to the principles of separation of powers and rule of law.  

"Our party hails Saraki's commitment to the progress and development of Nigeria. We also seize this opportunity to appreciate him for his contributions to the growth of our great party and his service to humanity. 

"Dear Leader, as you mark another glorious year today, we pray Almighty Allah to continue to bless and protect you. We wish you longer life in sound health and happiness and in service to our party, Kwara, Nigeria and humanity in general."

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
