Violent APC Rally: KWYSM Caution Politicians Against Criminal Violence, Intolerance, Reckless Impunity.

The Kwara Youth Strategic Movement has  condemned in clear, unambiguous and srong terms the violent All Progressives Congress APC Rally in Ilorin on Thursday.

KWYSM in a statement signed by it's state coordinator Amb. Gegele Ahmed Ibrahim on behalf of the group, described the overzealous action of the APC members as reprehensible and must be greeeted by a mass outrage.

It will be recalled that some PDP members were reported to have been severely injured by overzealous APC members at Adewole and Pakata areas of Ilorin during a rally organized by the APC in Kwara State.

"The brazen action of some members of the APC in Ilorin on Thursday, leaves much to be desired, as we approach the 2019 general elections." He said

"Such brazen display of criminal violence, indiscriminate use of dangerous weapons and   reckless display of  impunity must be immediately and roundly condemned"

"The sad development portend a grave danger and serious threat to the free, fair and credible conduct of the elections."

"The orgy of violence as demonstrated by the APC yesterday is a recipe for palpable fear, tension and apprehension which may discourage many voters from freely being a part of the elections."

"We therefore call on the security agencies to immediately launch an investigation into the incident, and swiftly apprehend the perpetrators of such criminal violence."

He also called on Politicians to exercise restraint and show responsibility in their conduct.

"Politicians are reminded that election is not war, they must commit themselves to only the task of deepening democracy through their actions which must remain dignified at all times".
