*KWYSM Condemns Decimation and Counter Decimation of Campaign Bill Boards, Calls For Restraint.*

The Kwara Youth Strategic Movement, has condemned in strong and unequivocal terms the recent culture of decimation and counter decimation of Campaign Bill Boards by yet unidentified persons in the State.

The Civil Society Organization in a Statement, signed by it's Coordinator, Ambassador Gegele Ahmed Ibrahim,  released in Ilorin on Friday, noted with deep disappointment, the event which has suddenly reached dizzying heights, describing it as unfortunate, done in bad faith and lack of Sportsmanship.

"Democracy pressuposes that there is institutionalized conflict,  which can only be resolved by the strength of ideas of Political Parties and not violence, banditry and outright lawlessness as is currently obtainable."

The organization added that, "Politics should be without bitterness, strife or recrimination. The People should be the very essence of politics, a situation that shows disdain for them by promoting actions that put their wellbeing in jeopardy, is a total departure from acceptable ethos."

"We call on Political Parties to show responsibility in their actions and utterances even as the elections draw nigh.
Political Parties are equally encouraged to remain law abiding amd jettison all actions that can throw the State into chaos and palpable tension."

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
