Kwara Political Violence: KWYSM Sues For Peace, Says Election is not war.

The Kwara Youth Strategic Movement has called on politicians in the State to embrace peace, calling on them to refrain from turning Kwara into a theatre of war.

The information is contained in a Press Release signed by the State Coordinator Ambassador Gegele Ahmed Ibrahim on behalf of the group in Ilorin on Monday.

This is coming on the heels of the spate of Political violence in the State over the weekend, where several people were severely injured.

He described the development as unfortunate, which cast shadows on the Harmonious reputation that Kwara has been renowned for.

The Statement reads in part "Our attention has been drawn to the recenr orgy of Political violence in Kwara State.

"We note with dissatsisfaction and displeasure the deperate by Politicians to overheat the Polity, cause confusion and security instability.

"Such acts of glorifying thuggery, banditry, violence and brigandage is completely irresponsible and must be heavily condemned."

"We urge Political gladiators in the State, to avoid Politics of bitterness, sharp division and hatred."

"Political Players are reminded that it is only in an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence that elections and by extension Governance can subsist."

The group also called on Security agencies, to be more proactive and dialogue with Political Parties in a bid to forestall reoccurence of the tragedy.

He concluded by calling on Kwarans to remain calm and law abiding.
