The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa has reiterated his commitment to the accelerated growth and development of Kwara North Senatorial District.

Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa made the pledge on Saturday, during his pre-campaign dialogue with the people of Kaiama, ahead of the Party's campaign flag off.

Atunwa noted that he is fully aware of the challenges facing the community, which he promised to address decisively, if elected as the Governor of Kwara State.

In his words "some places here need electric transformers. We would ensure quick provision of transformers in Kaiama and its environment to enable businesses thrive and boost economic activities in this region"

According to Hon. Atunwa, "We travelled from Baruten overnight where we have carried out same pre-campaign dialogue exercise, we all slept here in Kaiama and I must confess, Kaiama is a beautiful place to stay."

"I travelled through the Kishi/Kaiama road overnight and I must confess, that road needs attention."

Speaking further, Atunwa also promised to ensure youth and women inclusion, which he described as the dominant demographic group, without which aby economic progress can be made.

In his words, "we would ensure youth and women inclusion not just in terms of appointment but by priotizing their needs and welfare."

He also promised that his government will run an open door policy where everyone irrespective of creed, tribe, religion or gender will be heard."

Atunwa also solicited support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential Candidate. He noted that Atiku is committed to creating jobs for the teeming youth population, revamp the economy, foster unity and national cohesion and more importantly address the rising insecurity challenges plaging the nation.

Atunwa expressed his displeasure over the state of the Kishi/Kaiama and Kaima/Kosubosu road.

"The road network here needs attention but since Buhari is not interested in fixing your roads, we are bringing the man that is more concerned in ensuring the well being of Nigerians.
"We are always here with you, we are not politicians that will only come around few months to election to disrupt the harmonious existence of the state. You all know that we are serious minded persons with track records in recent time ".

In his remarks, the Kwara State PDP chairman, Engr Kola Shittu applauded the people of Kaiama for the support the People Democratic Party has enjoyed from them over the years.

He reassured them that the future hold immense promises, urging them to keep faith with the Party, which he described as a veritable platform, that has continued to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

In their own reaction, some of those that spoke at the town hall meeting, were full of kind words for the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, noting that his contributuon to the area cannot be overemphasised.

They recalled the countless and noteworthy intervention of the Senate President to the community and by extension the region, noting that they will continue to trust the leadership of the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki who has shown genuine commitment to their demands.

They described Senator Saraki as a selfless leader, who has dedicated his entire life to the service of Kwara and the nation at large.

The Kwara PDP Governorship candidate and his delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Kikon of Gwaria and assured him of his unyielding commitment to promptly meet the demands of the people, if elected as the Governor I. 2019.
