No faction in Kwara PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara State describes the purported emergence of a faction within the party as preposterous, ill-advised and baseless.

We wish to affirm that there is no faction or division within the party. The Kwara PDP remains a united family under the able leadership of Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

The group of people who are trying to create the impression that there is a faction within our party are nothing but impostors and jesters, who are only wasting their time. Their action is impolitic and we advise them to stop living in illusion.

For the purpose of clarification, the Hon. (Engr.) Kola Shittu-led State Executive Committee of the PDP was legally constituted by the appropriate organs of our great party.  
Hon. Kola Shittu was duly inaugurated as the chairman of Kwara PDP at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja by our national Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus. Consequently, the State chairman inaugurated other members of the State Executive Committee in Ilorin, an event which was well covered in the media.

Let it also be noted that members of the former State Executive Committee of the PDP led by Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, who decided to stay in the party have been absorbed into the existing structure of the party.

Therefore, let no one be deceived that there is a faction within Kwara PDP family; it is misleading to hold or believe that false narrative. Those parading themselves as factional PDP members are clowns and should be ignored.

It is clear that the continued unity and stability in the PDP remains a huge disappointment for those individuals who wish to see our party enmeshed in confusion or crisis as it is the case in their own camp.

We wish to re-emphasise that Kwara PDP remains an indivisible family under the leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki. We also reiterate our commitment to the welfare of Kwarans and development of the State, and urge the good people of Kwara to continue to support our party.

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
