KWIRS donates N20m to IVTEC

The Kwara Internal Revenue Services (KWIRS), has donated N20million to the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo for the procurement of additional tools to train students at the college.

The Chairman of the State Revenue Services, Dr Muritala Awodun who announced the first graduation of students of the IVTEC in Ajase-Ipo on Thursday said the gesture was part of the services' resolution to promote academic excellence in tertiary institutions across the state.

He explained that the revenue body decided to inject more fund to IVTEC because of its roles in modern vocational training and skills acquisition.

Dr Awodun further explained that the revenue body also resolved to award two overall best students with the sum of N250,000 each, while N100,000 each would go to other awardees.

He explained that the intention was to encourage the graduating students to enable them to be self-reliance and competent employers of labour.

Dr Awodun further encouraged the graduands to be more committed and attached importance to their professional callings.
