Kwara Ex-Councillors Pledge Loyalty to Saraki, Ahmed
Former local government Councillors in the state under the platform of Kwara State Ex-Councillors Forum have expressed their loyalty to the leadership of Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki and the state Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The Councillors expressed this during a solidarity visit to Governor Ahmed at Government House, Ilorin on Friday.
Speaking during the visit, Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Fatai Atanda described the delegation which comprised members from each of the 16 local government areas of the state as the authentic representatives of the former local government political office holders.
While disassociating the forum from an unknown group which claimed to speak for the ex-Councillors, Alhaji Atanda said his forum is totally loyal to Senator President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The Chairman commended the state government for prioritizing the welfare of forum’s membership which he said comprises ex Councillors from 1999 to date, stressing that they will continue to stand with and support the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in the state under the able leadership of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.
Responding, Governor Ahmed thanked the forum for its solidarity visit and assured them of continuous support and interface in key governance issues with a view to bringing their experiences to bear in the development of the state.
Dr Ahmed commended the Ex-councillors for standing by the PDP and its leadership in the state, saying that the APC is unstable and lacks the capacity to provide the leadership needed at this time.
Governor Ahmed stressed that the leadership of the state will continue to act in the interest of all to ensure inclusiveness and equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy to all citizens and residents of the state.
