Gov Ahmed to meet students on Monday

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji  Abdulfatah Ahmed is to meet  students under the platform of National Association of Kwara State Students(NAKSS)  next Monday to discuss issues concerning their welfare.

This was made known by the Special Adviser on Labour and Student Affairs, Comrade BISI Fakayode in a statement on Friday.

Fakayode said the meeting, which is at the instance of Governor Ahmed,  will discuss the welfare of student, including state bursary and other programs designed to support the students.

The Special Adviser reiterated the state government's standing commitment to supporting students to successfully complete their studies and fulfill their professional and personal ambitions.

While commending the NAKSS leadership and members for their patience and mature pursuit of their year’s bursary and other welfare packages, Fakayode urged them to continue to adapt dialogue in their engagement with the government which he said is trying its best to meet their requests.

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. The Kwara State State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has called on the people of Erin-Ile and Offa to remain calm and maintain law and order in the aftermath of a recent Supreme Court judgement concerning the boundary dispute between the communities. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
