Harmony Holdings Gets New GMD

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has appointed Dr. Shehu Kuranga Mohammed as the new Group Managing Director (GMD) for Harmony Holding Limited (HHL).

The appointment was disclosed in a press statement released on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold in Ilorin, the state capital.

The Governor also appointed, Professor S.K. Adeyemi as the Board Chairman of HHL.

Alhaji Ahmed disclosed that the appointments follow the expiration of the two months extension tenure of the Governing Board and Management of HHL to wind up its operations.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Mohammed was the MD/CEO of Skills First Consulting, Ltd.

He started his career in 1980 at Bayero University, Kano as Graduate Assistant with the Department of Management Sciences and grew through the ranks to Co-coordinator, Post Graduate Studies, in Management Programme at the institution.

He then moved into the banking sector in 1991 as Deputy Manager, Corporate Development & New Products Division, ICON Limited, (Merchant Bankers), Lagos and then as Assistant General Manager & Head, Corporate Planning Department, Bank of the North Limited, Head Office, Kano.

Until 2017, he was the Executive Director, Keystone Bank, Abuja.

Dr S.K Mohammed hails from Ilorin West Local Government Area of the State.

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
