Ex Kwara Lawmakers Congratulate Atunwa, Layonu, others

The Forum of Former Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, under the aegis of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Razaq Atunwa on his electoral victory at the just concluded PDP Gubernatorial Primary Election, which was held recently at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin, just as the Forum felicitated with Hon. Tope Layonu, who clinched the return ticket to represent Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

In a release signed by the Forum's Chairman and Secretary, Hon. Layi Ayinde and Hon. Isiaka Mogaji respectively, the Forum described the process that produced both the Candidates as credible and transparent.

The Forum said Atunwa, being a Lawyer, former Speaker,  former Commissioner in the State and currently serving as a Member of Federal House of Representatives, is a grassroot politician, who is highly qualified and quite familiar with every segment of governance and the people of the State.

It is therefore obvious that he has more than enough pedigrees that would enable him to carry everybody along in the scheme of things, as the Forum is appealing to the members of the public to cast their votes for the People's Democratic Party's Candidates in the upcoming 2019 General Elections.

"We are confident that the trust placed in him (Atunwa) by our great Party will inspire you to continue important efforts in promoting the unity of the Country and indeed, people of Kwara State, while leading it on the path of prosperity, further well-being and security for your people", the statement added.

The Forum is also proud of Hon. Tope Layonu, who represents Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in the National Assembly,  for his purposeful representation, as evidenced in gaining a return ticket to serve his people in the National Assembly again. It further admonished him to increase his good services to the people of his Constituency and noting that his sound and quality performances, has resulted to his being given the chance to represent PDP and the people at that level once again.

The statement further rejoiced with all the PDP's candidates on their victories at the just concluded party's primaries.

The Former Parliamentarians strongly enjoined the PDP flag bearers to extend their hands of fellowship to their co-contestants, in order to secure their supports in working together in the spirit of solidarity and unity for the victory for the Party.

This, according to the Forum, would ensure and enhance the fortunes of our Party in the forthcoming General Elections.

The Forum, however commended other contestants for their magnanimity and the spirit of sportsmanship that they displayed during the contests.

Both Hon. Rasaq Atunwa and Hon. Tope Layonu are members of the former members of the KWHA.

End.
