The Kwara State Chapter of the Not Too Young To Run Ambassadors have been observing the response of the National leadership of our sister group over the declaration of the Senate President to run for the Office of the President of the country.

First, we restate that the Not Too Young To Run Movement is not a partisan organization. However, it is clear that the organization is equally not apolitical. We are all essentially politicians because quite a lot of us are aspirants on the platform of one party or the other.

Second, the Dialogue series which the Senate President attended on Thursday 30th of this month was meant for and attended by PDP youth aspirants for various offices in the upcoming 2019 polls. The Panel of discussants was made up of PDP leaders including the PDP National Chairman and National Youth Leader.

It was therefore not out of place for the Senate President who is also a PDP Leader to use that opportunity to inform his co-aspirants at other levels that he too has become an aspirant, albeit for the number one position in the country.

We therefore do not see any reason for the needless controversy which is being generated in the event of Thursday 30th August, 2018. It is merely the case of a senior politician joined other young politicians to discuss his ambition. In fact we should be happy that the number three citizen of the country deemed it fit to inform our members first about his ambition before going public with it.

We should not allow our movement to be surreptitiously used as proxy in stoking partisan controversies. We should respect the Office of the President Of the Senate and not use demeaning words unbefitting of our generation during disscussions on the issues.

FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
