More PDP leaders in Kwara declare support for Saraki
 
More leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State have declared their support for the leadership of Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki in the State.
 
The party leaders made the declaration at a meeting they held with the Senate President at his Abuja residence on Thursday evening.  
 
They also promised to work towards the success of the party in the forthcoming 2019 general elections in the State and at the national level.
 
Among the top PDP members who indicated their support for Saraki are Colonel Wahab Lawal, Mr Ben Duntoye, Mr Bode Ojomu, Hajia Nana Sheu Sulaiman, Alhaji Bayi Ahmed, Mr Kamil Idris Akaso, Mallam Moh’d Sulaiman Sani, Mr Felix Alaba Apole and Hajia Fatimaj Magaji,
 
Others are Barrister Moses Ibiyemi, Alhaji Dauda Sulaiman and Mallam Baba Olateju, and Hajia Nimata Wakansi, who is a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and close associate of Senator Gbemisola Saraki.
 
Also in attendance at yesterday’s meeting with Saraki are Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman and Alhaji Razaq Lawal.
 
It will be recalled that Kwara PDP last week set up a harmonization committee to ensure inclusiveness and put the party in a stronger position to win elections and deliver good service to the people.

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. The Kwara State State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has called on the people of Erin-Ile and Offa to remain calm and maintain law and order in the aftermath of a recent Supreme Court judgement concerning the boundary dispute between the communities. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
