#EidElKabir: Senator Rafiu Calls for Divine Mercy; Prays for Unity and Peace

I congratulate the entire Muslim Ummah for this year's Sallah celebration which is a clear pointer to the spirit of oness, unity expected among humanity for the progress and development of the people.

I enjoin the Muslim faithful to remember all the lessons and virtues of submissiveness, sacrifice, obedience, love, as exhibited by the two Prophets of Faith (Ibrahim and Ismail) which led to the annual celebration (sacrifice) of Eid Kabir in Islam.

As we celebrate, my prayers are with the Muslim Faithful worldwide in the Holy Land, Makkah, performing this year's pilgrimage. May Almighty Allah grant them both the energy and grace to complete all the rites, return them back safely to their families and accept all their acts as Ibadah.

It is my prayer that all of us as a nation will come together to pray for a new Leader in Nigeria that will unify the country and give us a direction that will lead us to greater development and bring more prosperities as we approach the 2019 general elections.

In the mood of Sallah, I heartily congratulate the Nigerian people, most especially the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, the President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON, all Royal Fathers in Kwara State under the Chairmanship of the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR, all Kwara South constituents, and indeed the Muslim community in general.

May this year's Sallah leads us to more prosperity, happiness, and greater developments, and shall never be our last celebration.

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. The Kwara State State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has called on the people of Erin-Ile and Offa to remain calm and maintain law and order in the aftermath of a recent Supreme Court judgement concerning the boundary dispute between the communities. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
