JAAC: Kwara LGs ,SUBEB workers to get full salaries  for June

All categories of workers in the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State  would receive full salaries for the month  of June beginning from Wednesday, while the councils  shared  N863,924,703.46 from the State Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC) for the month of  June.

The Chairman , Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Mr. Joshua Omokanye disclosed this while addressing newsmen after the JAAC meeting held at the Ministry of Finance Conference room Ilorin on Tuesday .

According to him, the 16 LGs would share  N863,924,703.46 for  June 2018, as  the  State  Universal Education Board (SUBEB) teachers got N1,070,102,765.88 billion from June allocation.

Omokanye explained that  the committee has agreed that   all categories of LGs and SUBEB workers   would  receive full salaries this month.

He said that LG &LGEA pensioners would  receive full pensions this month as the amount stood  at N460,902, 614.44 revealing that 10 per cent Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)from state government stood at N74,307,472.92  and Value Added Tax (VAT) N494,102,773.42 were also shared. 

He explained that the sum of N279,646,975.46 was deducted at source as repayment for the councils’ salary related borrowings from banks.

ALGON Chairman who is also Chairman, Oyun Local Government Area  explained that statutory allocation for the month of  June    stood at N2,110,667,033.06 as against N2,169,912,676.93 in the previous month.

The Chairman  explained  that the fund was appropriated in line with law guiding the local government account which included;Teachers salary(SUBEB) N1,070,102,765.88;LG and LGEA pension N460,902,614.44 among others.

He  explained that the distribution of the allocations among the Local Government Councils  in the state was done in accordance with section 4(2) of the state Joint Local Government Account Law (cap80) as amended by Law 15 of 2001.  

"The fund was appropriated in line with law guiding the local government account. JAAC was assembly of 16Local Government chairmen without  the inference of  state government", he stated.

FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40.
