We Have Invested Heavily  in Human Capital Devt- Gov Ahmed

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed on Thursday disclosed that his government had in the last 7 years made considerable investment in human capital development in Kwara State.

Speaking at a press conference at the Government house in Ilorin, Ahmed noted that both the health,  education and informal sectors had received various interventions. 

In the education sector, Ahmed he pointed to renovation of 400 blocks of classrooms, reduction of tuition fee by 30% at the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, establishment of KWASU school of Engineering as well as the establishment of International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurial College, Ajase-Ipo.

Alhaji Ahmed further enumerated some of his achievements in the health sector to include the remodeling of 5 general hospitals in Ilorin, Offa, Omu-Aran, Share and Kaiama, distribution of drugs to basic health centers, remodeling of 50 primary healthcare centers, and provision of accessible and affordable health care through  expanded Community Health Insurance Scheme (CHIS)

He added that his government also partnered with LEAH Foundation to conduct free breast and cervical screening for 4000 civil servants across the state.

The governor further noted that his government also injected over N3.2 billion into Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and other incentives to support the informal sector.
