Oke-Ogun APC stakeholders eulogise Saraki, Ahmed 

Stakeholders under the auspices of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oke-Ogun Constituency of Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State yesterday applauded the President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for setting the state on the spotlight of development in the country.

They said Saraki's presence at the apex seat of the legislature has projected and made Kwara relevant politically and in the scheme of things.

Rising from a meeting held at Ijagbo yesterday, the stakeholders also praised Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for various political appointments he has made in Oke-Ogun Constituency.

This was contained in a communique issued after the meeting and jointly signed by the Chairman, Kwara South Senatorial District of APC, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun and a member representing Oke-Ogun Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Kamaldeen Fagbemi.

The communique similarly commended the Kwara South Senator, Dr Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, for the developmental projects including road, electricity, water, which he facilitated in Oke-Ogun constituency and Kwara South in general.

It however called on Governor Ahmed to urgently set machinery in motion for the construction of Odo-Ode, Ikotun and Offa road, which was advertised in 2017 and re-validated in 2018 budget.

"We are commending the Senate President on the progress he has made so far for putting Kwara name first in the national level.

"We want to commend Governor Ahmed for the various appointments he has made in Oke-Ogun Constituency.

"We want to commend Senator Rafiu Ibrahim for the gangatic effort in facilitating roads electricity, water among others to the Constituency and Kwara South.

"We call on Governor as a matter of extreme urgency to set machinery in motion for the construction of Odo-Ode, Ikotun and Offa road, which was advertised in 2017 and re-validated in 2018.

"We appeal to the Governor on the Igosun/Offa road, which is in need of urgent rehabilitation.

"The whole of Oyun Constituency pledges unalloyed support to the party and its leadership under Dr Bukola Saraki", the communique partly read.

Offa/Erin-Ile: Governor Ahmed Solicits Calm Over Judgment, Advocates Dialogue. FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. Banu said local government councils in the state, on their part, were allocated N2,410,239,130.07.
