FAAC: Kwara to Receive N3.2b as April Allocation as LGs Get N2.4b Kwara State Government has revealed its federal allocation figures for April 2019. In statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu said the state government will receive N3,279,896,086.07 as federal allocation for April. The April allocation, according to Banu, comprises statutory allocation of N1,984,735,503.59, Value Added Tax (VAT) amounting to N865,451,596.07, exchange gain of N3,605,662.04, foreign exchange equalisation of N71,405,769.35, additional NNPC funds amounting to N54,568,854.62 as well as goods and valuable contribution of N300,128,700.40. FAAC: Kwara Gets N3.3b for March as LGs Receive N2.4b The Kwara State Government is to receive a sum of N3,307,918,431,91 as allocation from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) March  2019. The State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, made this known in a statement released in Ilorin on Thursday. Banu disclosed that the State Government’s allocation was made up of statutory receipt of N2,135,323,050.74, Value Added Tax (VAT) of N901,610,816.11exchange gain of N4,725,434.41, excess bank charges of N25,193,474.21, and foreign exchange equalisation N241,065,656.44. Explaining further, Banu said the 16 Local Government Councils in the State are to receive N2,425,638,638,39 as allocation for March. Kwara Government Reveals Debt Profile The Kwara State Government clarified that, contrary to public speculation, the state’s current debt portfolio stands at N30,203,632,608.29 with a monthly repayment of N496,367,109.08. According to the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, the debt stood at N31,481,082,712.95 in 2017 and N30,751,665,421.83 at the end of 2018, contrary to social media speculation of N50.2b. Giving a breakdown of the current indebtedness, Banu explained that the N30.2b includes N15,325,541,483.03 as the balance of the Federal Government restructured loan, N4,002,948,667.07 as salary bail out, excess crude account loan outstanding of N9,324,613,607.52 and vehicle loan balance of N128,916,612.87.
